Upper Management
Upper Management is made up of the leads of each division, including a Team Lead. They are responsible for the direction of the team and the wider vision for the future. They progress goals and ensure all members are achieving their best.
Division Management
Division and Upper Management is made up of the leads and managers of each division. Together they drive the direction and everyday task management on a more micro level. Division managers are primarily responsible for weekly tasks, while leads look ahead at longer intervals.
Polymers
The Polymers division is concerned with the research of polymer material properties to improve our team’s collection, sorting and manufacturing of recycled plastic. Its findings seek to serve the team, university and broader community alike.
Technical Research & Developement
Our Technical Research and Development division is responsible for the procurement of efficient means to process plastic. This involves the development and maintenance of our suite of plastic recycling machinery.
Beyond Plastic
The Beyond Plastic division is responsible for incorporating and conducting research on biodegradable material into PPM through practical experimentation and lab work. This includes trialling alternate solutions to the plastic and food waste crisis through material testing, process and product development.
Products
The Products division aims to show the wider public how plastics can be recycled and reused into new and exciting pieces. Students experiment to create new products out of shredded plastic, such as our Re-Stool. Fundamentally, the products division symbolises the recyclability of plastic waste.
Outreach
Our Outreach division is responsible for coordinating all of PPM’s external-facing events which include school, corporate and public events. They educate communities on reducing plastic consumption and treating plastic as a precious resource.
Marketing
The Marketing division is responsible for all of PPM’s social media accounts in addition to the PPM website. They are also involved with developing behaviour change campaigns and promoting internal operations and achievements using PPM’s public platforms.
Operations & Partnerships
The Operations and Partnerships division coordinates PPM events and manages partnerships and sponsorships. The events can range from Networking night to team social events. The Finance Officer is a part of this division and manages all financial tasks for PPM such as budget, reimbursements and invoicing.
