Round Square Conference

Written by Liam Farrugia

On April 8th Precious Plastic Monash was invited to the Round Square Conference hosted by the Woodleigh School in Langwarrin South. The Round Square Conference brings together a number of likeminded and intellectual students from around the world to learn and grow from each others differing life experiences. With an emphasis on sustainability Precious Plastic Monash delivered both a key note speech to the entire Round Square delegation as well has running an activity workshop based around educating the children on the importance of cleaning and sorting plastic correctly as well as allowing the children to interact with some Precious Plastic products and the Integration Unit.

The children were both active and engaged throughout all the activities and it was a truly rewarding moment seeing so many keen and intrigued eyes when they were shown the Integration Unit. With many questions being asked and plenty of smiles on faces, all involved had a great time.

Furthermore, the Woodleigh School had designed a gift bag for all attendees containing a multitude of recycled and sustainable products, of which Precious Plastic Monash was invited to add to. The Woodleigh School commissioned a design for a bag tag which was then created using a combination of sustainable bamboo and recycled plastic. The making of video can be viewed here.

Many thanks to the Woodleigh School for allowing us to showcase our machines, products and the wonder of plastic recycling.
