Our networking night began with a panel where we hosted a range of guest speakers. Including Mariah Stellato, Kimberly Chhen, Parmis Hassani, Nader Afshar, Sanna Afshar and Georgia Cooke.

Led by Precious Plastic Monash members Maryam Asad and Niki Partovi, we got to hear many different perspectives on sustainability. Some speakers touched on how it is treated in business, while other speakers touched on community initiatives.

Panelists each spoke about their experiences in technical and community-based roles, passing on advice to future Engineers.

There was a sense of optimism throughout the night. Students were given opportunities to hear about real world applications of sustainability.

As the night went on, some light refreshments were provided and students gathered around upstairs in the Alan Finkle Building. Engineering student teams showcased their work and students got to ask questions and delve deeper into these teams’ projects. Students got to interact with working engineers, ask questions and dig into the day-to-day aspects of their roles.
